Stefan Hintersteininger
Originally from Vancouver, Stefan completed his Masters degree in Cello Performance at DePaul University in June 2006, graduating with honours, where he studied with Katinka Kleijn of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Prior to that, he studied with Eric Wilson at UBC and John Friesen at Western Washington University.
Since his return to Vancouver, Stefan has been extremely active as a freelance musician, collaborating with many of Vancouver's leading artists in various contemporary music projects, as well as in many orchestral and chamber music concerts. He is principal cellist of Orchestra Armonia, and a member of the Erato Ensemble, the Vancouver Intercultural Orchestra and the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra.
An experienced teacher of students of all ages, Stefan maintains a large private studio. He is an extra musician for the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra.
