Jeff Younger
Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Jeff moved west in August of 1999 and is currently finishing a composition degree in the Capilano College Jazz Studies program. Since arriving in Vancouver, he has been a prolific performer with a wide range of projects, including jazz, funk, folk, rock, pop, free-improv and multi-media collaborations. Jeff is also a prolific composer, writing much instrumental jazz, funk and country music, as well as folk and rock songs.
His jazz tune Roadkill was recently published in the book Traffic Life, and a number of his compositions and recordings are currently being used as course material for the audio engineering program at the Center for Digital Imaging and Sound in Burnaby. Currently, large portions of his compositional energies are focused toward modern classical music and the completion of his degree.
Jeff has many years of teaching experience and his genuine passion for and dedication to music, and particularly the guitar, are evident in his interactive teaching style. Lesson objectives and teaching methods are varied, based on each individual student's desires and ability level, while having fun with the music and the instrument remains a top priority.
