Claire Arthur
Claire Arthur completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto where she studied piano as well as piano pedagogy with renowned instructor Marina Geringas at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Since then, she has moved to beautiful BC and in 2008 graduated from the MA Music program at UBC.
Although Claire has been teaching for 10 years, she truly discovered her passion for pedagogy while working as a Professor’s Assistant at the UBC School of Music. Here, she led tutorials for undergraduate students covering everything from introductory harmony to advanced serialism. Her enthusiasm for teaching and her success with these tutorials led her to begin teaching group theory courses.
Claire has experience teaching students of all ages from 6 to 60! Her career has focused primarily on the study of pedagogy although she has been in her share of musical performances. Claire takes great pride in being able to pass down all her knowledge and enthusiasm that she has acquired from her many years of studying, performing and teaching music.
