Mark Vasak

Mark Vasak is a passionate music fan and has been teaching guitar for over ten years. He completed his Bachelor of Jazz Studies from Capilano University in 2006 and has since performed across Canada in a wide range of musical genres including jazz, rock, pop, folk, country, and the blues. He has composed music for film, animation, new media, video games, and has worked with such staples as Vancouver’s Electronic Arts.

Mark is known for teaching in a clear, patient, and methodical way that not only teaches students the music they always wanted to play but gives them a strong foundation to continue learning on their own. Always searching for a fun approach to understanding music and the guitar he has taught students aged eight to sixty-two! and regularly works with various ability levels ranging from beginner to advanced.

Mark enjoys helping students achieve their musical goals and has had some of his students go on to further university studies in music while others have finally achieved their dream of performing on stage. He believes all lessons should be fun, engaging, and approachable, leaving the student inspired to continue learning throughout the week and excited for their next lesson.
